The game gave the coaches the oppurtunity to give the whole squad a run and in the second half there were wholesale changes as Gary Speed replaced David Batty at Outside Right and Nigel Smith came on for Dave Bentley at Inside Right after sixty-one minutes. Smith was quickly on the scoresheet as he found the net eight minutes later. Simon Grayson replaced Vince Brockie at Right Back and Bob Ainley came on for Richard Annan at left Back four minutes later and after seventy-one minutes Kevin Noteman replaced Mark Fella at Inside Left.
